A very attractive painting by Gustavus Adolphus Behne (b.1828, d.1895)Behne, an American, was known for his landscape and religious art work in Reading and Philadelphia, Penn. in the 1850’s. This painting was deaccessioned by the Fresno Metropolitan Museum of Art and Science and also exhibited at the University of So. California. It is signed lower right G. Behne 186-?. Behne is listed in Dictionary of Artists in America 1564-1860
