Staffordshire Hunting Scene Well And Tree Platter, Ca. 1840

A large Staffordshire blue and white well and tree platter with a scene of a dog flushing a bird from shrubbery. Made in the 1st half of the 19th Century. It has no maker’s mark. Its big enough to serve a whole turkey or a large ham on and suitable for display.

Good antique condition except for a chip to the inside of one of the feet on the underside. The glaze has fine crackles and the shows absorption of stains on the bottom. The display side is still bright with light scattered scratches.
