Royal Worcester Aesthetic Movement Porcelain Water Jug, Ca. 1880

England 1886

A lovely water jug with blush ivory creamy ground in the Japanese Aesthetic Movement style. The body is decorated with floral sprigs of flowers such as iris, pansy, peony, etc. The mark on the base indicates it was made in 1886. The base is also marked HS, possibly the artist’s initials. The handle is in the form of bamboo.

This fork and spoon is made in the traditional early 19th century “Repousse’” pattern which is molded and chased on solid silver flatware. The Baltimore firm of Kirk while extremely successful for over 150 years was finally merged with the Stieff Co. under the Stieff name in 1979. The combined weight is 6.8 troy oz.
