Antique Georgian Sterling Silver Vinaigrette by Joseph Willmore

England 1818

A fine sterling example made in Birmingham, England by Joseph Willmore in 1818. It has a hinged case in the form of a purse with a strap and clasp. It is decorated with floral, leaf and prick work engraving on one side and the other similarly engraved with a central unengraved oval reserve. The case opens to reveal a gold washed interior with a hinged foliate grille.
It weighs .7 troy oz. or 20 grams.
