George III Gilt and Mahogany Mirror, Ca. 1770 featuring a gilded spread wing eagle and gilded side vines of leaves, nuts and flower heads. Flanking the eagle crest are rococo scrolls.

Excellent antique condition. Retains the original beveled mirror plate and backboards. Small imperfections and gilding refreshed.

A fine high style example possibly made in Rhode Island in the first quarter of the 19th century. It is made from mahogany with pine and chestnut secondary woods. Curiously, it never had finials on the mirror supports.
