Windsor Low Back Arm Chair, English, 18th Century

England 2nd half 18th Century

This Windsor low back ladies/youth sized chair appears to be earlier than most of the more standard hoop back English chairs on the market. Most of the English Windsors I have encountered appear to have been made from the mid 19th century to the present in large numbers. It retains much of its early naturally worn finish. The legs are widely splayed for secure stability.
