Chinese Export Mandarin Tureen, Ca. 1820

China Ca. 1820

Chinese export porcelain tureen, cover and under plate dating from the early 19th century. A fine example with a purple scale background. Large and small scrolled edge reserves depicting scenes of Mandarins in court yards, landscapes in orange and the smallest with flowers. There are gold highlights on theĀ  handles, single lines on the edges and scattered bits in the hair.

Overall good + The gold is rubbed about 20%on the cover handle. Some rubbing of the gold on the edges. The platter has rubbing to the enamels, primarily the purple and orange. There are a few very small scattered chips. No repairs or cracks.

Makes a very strong presentation.
