Carpet Balls comprising a group of 10 in varying sizes and colors. Sizes range from approximately 2″ to 3.5″ diameter. The appear to be stone or marble, painted and natural except a small lignum vitae.

Antique Brass and Iron Serpentine Fire Place Fender, Ca. 1780

A nice small example with a serpentine facade. The top is capped in brass with iron wire work below on an iron and sheet iron base. These were made from the mid 1700s into the 1820s corresponding with furniture designs of that period with serpentine shaped fronts.
