Georgian Mahogany 18th Century Brass Banded Cellarette/Wine Cooler on Stand

A very good quality George III cellarette with three mounted wide brass bands, the original tripod stand and interior lead lined honeycomb divided compartments. The center compartment has a drain plug ( it has not been tested for holding water ). The body is attached to the stand by three large screws. The splayed legs give this a great stance.

Condition

Excellent. Excellent antique condition. There are the normal dings and small scratches. The brass bands have some bumps and irregularities. Has a pleasing finish. The casters may be old replacements. The anchors for the lock have been filed down at some time probably due to misalignment from age shrinkage. It is very heavy.
