England Ca. 1770

Worcester chocolate cup and saucer with dark blue scale ground. A very scarce and delicate form especially the fragile pierced handles ( small section missing). The rococo reserves of flowers on a white background are edged with finely drawn gold scrolls. The cup with one butterfly on an exterior reserve and one butterfly at the inside bottom. The saucer with 2 butterflies in the same positioning as the cup.

Square character seal under glaze in blue.
