Walnut William & Mary Style Seaweed Marquetry Inlaid Bookcase

England Ca. 1890

A great looking antique copy of a 17th Century English form. I believe this was made to fool the buyer into thinking it was antique when new, as it is so well done. The seaweed design is expertly done with high quality walnut. All the details are correct and as it was made to look like a well kept antique when made it has even a more authentic look today. It is in two parts and the single drawer is simulated to look like three separate drawers. The cornice contains a hidden drawer. I have the other curtain which is included.

Price

$6300

Condition

Excellent. Excellent antique condition with very small well done repairs. One pane of glass has a diagonal crack but since the glass looks ancient I wouldn't touch it.
