Great quality sterling or coin silver American mug dated 1894. Cast handle, band of vintage pattern repousse, and a moulded band on the base. Script initial dedication dated June 13th, 1894. Heavy gauge approx. 6 oz. No maker’s mark

From the estate of collector David Wood, former director of the Norman Rockwell Museum. Some of Mr. Wood’s collection is at the Nantucket Historical Association.

These four sterling tazzas were made by Dominick & Haff of New York. The company was sold to Reed and Barton in 1928. It is marked sterling on the base and S.7423 along with the Dominick and Haff mark. approx 72 troy oz. They appear to be modeled after an early Georgian example.
