Set of Four Chinese Export Armorial Plates

China 1840

A set of four porcelain plates made in China for export to the Western Market. The armorial shield with boar’s heads and chickens have a banner under them with the motto “Recte et Candide” or loosely translated, Justly and Fairly. The pattern consists of multiple precious items and Chinese poems.

Very good ++ One plate is nearly perfect. Three have light stacking wear. The gold is in a remarkable fresh state.
