Pair Of Brass Wall Sconces

Probably European Ca. 1900

A pair of wall sconces made of cast and embossed brass. The back plates are embossed with scrolls, leafage, urn form flaming lamps and a central Bacchanalian face wearing a crown. The removable candle holders are cast. Each mirror plate is beveled. Each has a single triangular form loop on the top of the back side to hang these from.

Probably made near the end of the 19th century or early 20th century. They are not wired for electricity. I assume they are European. The candle arms can easily be unscrewed for removal and can be swiveled while attached.

Price

$775

Condition

Very good antique condition. One of the mirror plates has lost some of its silvering at the top and bottom, one has very slight loss of silvering.

Rococo Style Wall Sconces, Carved and Silver Gilt Pair

Hand carved pine with gesso and patinated oxidized silver gilt. They appear to be 1st quarter of the 20th Century and electrified around the same time or a little later. The original models for these suggest 18th Century England as they are more slender than many of the heavier Continental examples.
