Oval Dining Table, George ll Red Walnut Drop Leaf

Great Britain Ca. 1740

A fine quality Georgian dining table with an oval top and cabriole legs. The knees of the legs have carved volutes and end in pointed slipper feet. Very hard and heavy walnut.

Normal signs of usage and age of a 280 year old table. Sound and sturdy. Old shrinkage cracks and scratches, one area around a hinge rule joint has blown out and reattached, abrasions, one foot tip either re-attached or replaced.
Top is faded.
