Large Pair of French Bronze Dragon Motif Curtain Tie Backs by Dromard

France Late 19th/Early 20th Century

A substantial pair of elaborate curtain tie back holders (they lack the small brackets to hold them to the wall) made by or for the French Cabinet Maker L.Dromard of Paris. These undoubtedly date from the late 19th/early 20th century They retain a greenish brown old patina. The dragons are 4.25″ high and 4.75″ long. The Back plates are 3″ wide and 13″ high.

Excellent. One back plate has been repaired in two places. One area below the urn and another at the neck of the finial. These repairs are solid and cannot be seen when the curtains are in place. Also they are not readily noticeable on casual viewing. The losses indicated are the lack of accompanying separate wall mounted clips to hold them in place. Mounting brackets could be made or simply drilling small holes into the back plates will allow small screws to mount these directly to the walls.

Height: 13 in.
Width/Length: 5.5 in.
Depth: 6.5 in.

Pair Curtain Tiebacks, Gilt Bronze and Porcelain

A decorative Victorian Era pair of curtain tiebacks made from gilt bronze and lightly gilded white porcelain flower heads. They do come with later made wall mounting holders. They make a nice object d’art on a shelf too.
