Green Quartz Oriental Lamp, Ca. 1900

Green quartz lamp on a carved wood and embossed brass base. The quartz is in the form of a covered jar with a foo dog finial and two foo dog mask handles. The jar is hollow and the cover can be removed to reveal a small electric socket and bulb which makes a super night light with a low watt led light.

It comes with the bell form lamp shade with fringe and a jade finial.

Hand carved pine with gesso and patinated oxidized silver gilt. They appear to be 1st quarter of the 20th Century and electrified around the same time or a little later. The original models for these suggest 18th Century England as they are more slender than many of the heavier Continental examples.
