George III Writing Desk with a tambour top made around 1800. It is made from (faded) mahogany with line inlays and decorative curly satinwood. The top with a muliti- striped tambour top opening to reveal an adjustable leather topped writing surface, cubby holes and  drawers.

The upper case sits upon a case of two short and one long drawer in the front and a pull out slide on each side above false drawers. The square tapered legs with line inlays and rectangular panels with inverted corners. All upon brass casters.

Formerly in the collection of Assadour Ohanes Tavitian (April 14, 1940 – April 21, 2020) , Mr. Tavitian had constructed a beautiful mansion in Stockbridge, Massachusettss. He  was an Armenian American entrepreneur, art collector, and philanthropist.

Overall very good antique condition with normal signs of wear and use. Moderately faded mahogany. A few small areas of missing inlay.
