Floral Painted Oval Tole Tray With Stand

Unknown/ possibly France 2nd Half 19th Century

A 19th Century painted metal tray with the original painted decoration of a large floral bouquet on a brick red field. The gold scrolling rococo border has an outer edge of bluish green. The whole of the decoration is over a black ground.

The bamboo style stand made at coffee table height was made in the 20th century. The tray rests upon the stand and can easily be lifted from it and replaced for serving.

Condition

There is scattered paint loss and some over painting over the larger areas. The gold has been over painted in many areas. The paint appears to be sound. The Stand is in very good condition.
