Fireplace Fender Made of Brass and Iron

American or European Ca. 1840

This fireplace fender is a standard model in a good state of preservation. I have difficulty dating some of these but it is hand made. I would think it dates between the 1820’s to the 1850’s.  The top rail is capped by brass which has two small brass drawer pulls added to the ends of each side.
