Exquisite English Regency Inlaid Sewing or Valuables Box

England circa 1825

This profusely inlaid box is among the finest I have ever offered for sale. The exterior and an interior panel are intricately inlaid with various woods primarily consisting of curly maple and curly harewood. The leaves are dyed green. The flower heads and diamonds between the leaves are dyed red. The brass hardware still retains much of its silver plating. The ribbed melon type feet while very appropriate appear to have been added at a later date.

George III Irish or English Mahogany Side Chair Ca. 1750

A fine example of a “Queen Anne” cabriole leg side chair in a form thought to have been made in Ireland. A curvacious piece of sculpture from any aspect. Possibly deaccessioned by a museum as it has a museum type inventory number painted on the bottom of the rear seat rail.
