English Worcester 18th Century Cabbage Leaf Dish
England Ca 1765
Early production of The Worcester factory in the form of overlapping cabbage leaves. The naturalistic polychrome painting is of an exotic bird perched on a swagged vine with butterflies and a yellow lady bug. The two main veins of the leaves are a pastel pink. The edge is lined in gold.
In very fine condition. A minuscule chip on the end of one leaf stem and a slight bit of roughage on a half inch long gilded edge.
The gilding is in particularly good condition with barely any rubbing. There is a little bit of rubbing at the tapered tips of the pink veins. A well preserved example.
