Coin Silver Scenic Calling Card Case

United States Ca. 1850

A fine quality mid 19th century card case attributed to the Philadelphia firm of Leonard & Wilson Silversmiths. Evidently many of Leonard & Wilson card cases are un-marked as this one is but other marked examples are known of the exact details of form and size as is this example. The workmanship is elaborate and crisp with a view of Trinity Church, New York City on one side and the other with an owner’s initials. It weighs 1.45 Troy oz.

W. Kimball Coin Silver Soup Spoons Ca. 1840

Six W. Kimball Coin Silver soup spoons made around 1840. The maker is one of the few I have not been able to definitively locate a record for. The family I purchased them from had 19th century roots in Connecticut. The six of these weigh a total of 8.2 Troy oz.
