Chelsea Exotic Porcelain Bird Plate Ca. 1755

England Ca. 1755

A striking English example from the early production of the Chelsea factory. A similar plate is illustrated in Godden’s “British Porcelain”, page 132, #136.

Price

$2400

Condition

Very good condition. There are small areas of enamel touch up, mostly to the green leaves. As I recall there is a consolidated line that I can't find with heavy magnification and very small repairs to the edge of the rim. The whole plate has been over sprayed and looks nearly new. Scattered glaze fissures.

Measurements

8 3/4" diameter

Assembled Pair Of Sterling Silver Casters, Ca. 1790

Though made by two different London silver smiths these are nearly the same size and shape with similar details. One was made by Robert Hennell in 1789, the other made in 1785 possibly by Thomas Shepherd. Combined they weigh 8.7 troy oz.
