Arthur E. Ward ( Maine 1863-1928) is a regionally well known artist for his impressionist and more modern techniques in harbor views, marine and rural landscape painting. This oil painting is a view facing the town from the harbor. Written on the back of the academy board in pencil is “Rock Port from the little harbor, Arthur E Ward”.
