American Mahogany and Marble Classical Stand/Side Table

United States Ca. 1825

This is the first American table of this type in such a small size I have seen. The European versions are not uncommon. It could have been used as a mixing table or by the front door to leave your calling card on.

Price

$3900

Condition

Excellent. Very good antique condition. The marble is unbroken and the finish is pleasing with a moderate luster. It does have the usual stress cracks associated with this type of construction. Only the shrinkage crack on the plinth is worth pointing out.
