Regency Pen Work Table, Ca. 1825

England Ca. 1825

Regency Pen Work Table, Ca. 1825, the pen work over a very dark green/ black ground. The rectangular top with ovolo corners above a case with one drawer with original silvered copper ring pulls over a hanging sewing bag. The pull out pleated green sewing bag with fringe and swagged cord and tassels. All above a plinth supported by 4 down sweeping legs ending in brass paw casters.

While most furniture finished in pen work of the late 18th and early 19th centuries have severely deteriorated decoration, this table is in particularly well preserved condition.

Next Piece

Worcester Teapot, Ca. 1780

An attractive late 18th century gold and white teapot, though unmarked is undoubtedly a product of the Worcester manufactory. The ribbed barrel form is decorated with gold swags. This would make a very good shelf piece at a low cost as one side has had the gold heavily rubbed.
