Sterling Silver Cup, John Langlands, 1759

Sterling Silver Cup made by John Langlands  of Newcastle, England in 1759. This beautifully modeled two handle cup features repousse’ and engraved quail, sea shells, flower heads, leafage, hunting dog, trees and 2 un-engraved cartouches. The center of the underside is fully hallmarked with the lion, leopard, 3 castles, the date letter and maker’s mark. It weighs 14.2 Troy Oz.

Very good condition. A small dent in the center of one of the cartouches, bottom of one handle re-stuck.
