Meissen Covered Bowl and Under Plate, Ca. 1760

A Meissen bowl with original cover and under plate made in the mid 18th Century. The cover, bowl and under plate with a green and white diaper edge bordered by gold rococo scrolls and a central serpentine band of flowers, vines and leaves. This type of bowl and cover is sometimes referred to by the French world “equelle”.
The inside bottom of the bowl has a small gold acorn. The under plate has either an S or 5 on the inner rim. Both bowl and under plate have the Meissen crossed swords in blue with a centered dot but the under plate has an additional dash above the sword hilts.

Excellent antique condition. Only minor flaws and inner ring on the under plate has about 30% of the gold rubbed off. No repairs.
