Chinese Export Armorial Sauce Boat and Under Plate, Ca. 1820

China Ca. 1820

A Chinese Porcelain sauce boat and under plate probably made for the British market. Each piece decorated with blue and white patterned borders usually seen on Fitzhugh patterned items with central armorial crest and shield. The crest appears to be a bear’s paw. The shield with a rampant lion, three gilt pectin shells, a smaller quartered shield all bordered by wreaths and a bow tie.

For some technical reason the images have been reversed and the lion faces the opposite direction shown.
