Chinese Export Armorial Porcelain Plate, Ca. 1750

China Mid 18th Century

A good mid 18th century example of Chinese artistry on porcelain made for a European royal family. The crest and shield have lions rampant that are usually associated with the British Isles. The body of the plate is very thinly potted showing the hand of a highly skilled artisan.

Condition

No cracks or repairs but does have numerous edge frits and small chips on the edge of the underside. There is some modest stacking wear that is mostly in the areas of the inner edge gold and rust red floral and leaf sprays.
