A sophisticated New England cherry Federal  sofa with crotch cherry veneer. The back is surmounted by a paneled tablet of book matched crotch cherry surrounded by a bold line of what appears to be dark mahogany. The arms are reeded as are the front edge of the sides. The front legs are reeded and the arm supports above have a vase shaped section with carved stylized long leaves.

Excellent antique condition with normal dings and scuffs from usage. The upholstery of the cushion is worn on the front face. The rear face is in good condition and could probably be switched if desired.
