George III Mahogany Small Pembroke Table

England Ca. 1780

A Pembroke table made in the mid to late 18th Century  with a single drawer. The off set square tapering legs end in a sort of brush or Spanish foot on worn leather and brass casters. Note the uncommonly seen cross stretchers.

Price

$3700

Condition

Excellent polished antique condition. Much of the finish appears to be original as is the brass drawer pull and casters. The top retains its early finish but has been polished over retaining its old color. As is the case many times on drop leaf table the top had shrunk over the centuries and the leaves would not close in the vertical down position so a 3/16" addition was made to both sides of the top. This was professionally done and blends in very well so it is only slightly noticeable. Old repair and reinforcement to the stretchers.

Measurements

27.75" H X 28.25" D X 21.75" W (leaves down) X 35.25" W (leaves up)
