England Ca. 1800
A fine quality faded mahogany English writing table with the same drawer configuration on each side. The overall plan of the facade and plain round tapered leg with a half bulbous carving at the top was being produced at least as early as 1795. The drawer facings are trimmed at the edges by a single inlaid ebony line. The writing surface is gold tooled leather that is also faded. The long rectangular boxes mounted on the top containing two drawers each are for writing implements.
