Rococo Style Wall Sconces, Carved and Silver Gilt Pair

Ca. 1920

Hand carved pine with gesso and patinated oxidized silver gilt. They appear to be 1st quarter of the 20th Century and electrified around the same time or a little later. The original models for these suggest 18th Century England as they are more slender than many of the heavier Continental examples.

Their appearance is like well cared for 18th Century examples. Small blemishes, oxidation, wear to the surface. Electrified for low incandescent wattage or higher lumen per watt LED candle type bulbs.
