Flat Top Rosewood Writing Desk

America Ca. 1860

A double pedestal desk with inset gold tooled burgundy leather top. The back side looks like the front except as there are no drawers there is no hardware. The desk is mounted on the original inset casters.

Condition

Excellent antique condition. There is an old key with the desk to facilitate opening and closing the upper drawers, but is not the correct one to use the locks. There is a construction fissure under the leather top that changes with humidity from smooth to a slight ridge.
