Luminous Landscape Attributed to American Charles Codman

A lovely sunset landscape attributed to Portland, Maine artist Charles Codman (b. 1800, d.1842). Codman’s work is represented in several US museums (see artist biography section on my gallery home page) and most recently the Portland Museum of art mounted a retrospective in 2003 of Codman’s work which is described on their web site.
