Late Federal Period Silver Tea Pot

America 1830s

A handsome tea pot by Thomas J. Megear (b. 1809) who worked in Wilmington 1831-32 and Philadelphia 1833-1857. It is quite heavy for its size, 42.2 troy oz.. It has an engraved “G” in script on one side.

Excellent condition for its age. There are only a few very small dings and scratches. The maker's mark is partially unreadable.

Four Sterling Silver Tazzas

These four sterling tazzas were made by Dominick & Haff of New York. The company was sold to Reed and Barton in 1928. It is marked sterling on the base and S.7423 along with the Dominick and Haff mark. approx 72 troy oz. They appear to be modeled after an early Georgian example.
