Chinese Export Mandarin Subject Cup and Saucer

A good example of this colorful type of porcelain made for the western market in China near the end of the 18th century. The form of the cup is called a can.

Excellent. Some rubbing to the gold on the lip of the cup and scattered light rubbing to the very thin gray lines at the top and bottom of the cup. The bowl has a very small flake in the inside rim, a 1/2" short hair line that can barely be seen and very minor stacking wear
